This is the thirty fourth painting in an ongoing series.  

I like to paint places that seem to exist although I have never really seen them. This could very well be a secluded forest lake. Leafs are falling and the autumn sun is just setting. Some of the darker parts in the water transport you to deep mysterious depth and the wind makes the rest of the water surface a bit rough and less transparent. You are wondering what you see across the lake under the trees. It is quiet and you only hear the rustling leaves.  But I invite you to flow on your own imagination into this canvas.

Transparency, layering, movement, fluidity, the multiplicity of water is so exciting. There is a whole world below the surface and you can only get a glimpse of it. It mirrors the sky and it reflects you as the viewer.
