‘Japanese Spring' is part of 'Branch Up' which is mainly a series on the promise that blossom brings. A time of renewal but also a display of the fleeting nature of life. Blossom time feels as if all trees go in festive mode. But they only bloom for a short while so you have to seize the moment. Branch Up is painted on a prolonged canvas to accentuate the feeling of a lanky branch.
